VoiCE: Volunteers in Community Education
Volunteering is a great way to have a meaningful, positive impact on your Community. It is also a great opportunity for you to gain valuable life experience and skills while meeting interesting people. No matter what your skills, we can use your talents to help others throughout our community.
The Community Education and Recreation Department recognizes and welcomes the many talents and gifts of our older adults. We are pleased to offer the Senior Tax Exchange Program through which older adults are given the opportunity to work in the School District and apply their earnings toward payment of property taxes.
You must be 62 years or older, receive social security, and own taxable property within the School District of Menomonee Falls boundaries. You will be compensated for a maximum of 65 hours per household or up to $423 per year.
In order to be eligible, you must fill out an application with Lori Oertel, Older Adult and Volunteer Supervisor for the Menomonee Falls Community Education and Recreation Department. All applicants will be interviewed and matched with a position that takes into account their interests. Desired positions will be submitted by school district personnel.
If you would be interested in volunteering in the district, please call Lori Oertel, the Older Adult and Volunteer Supervisor for the M.F. Community Education and Recreation Department, at 262-255-8469. Or contact Lori via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Lori will be happy to assist in connecting you with the right volunteer opportunity.
