Assistive Technology

The Assistive Technology Team will help each individual student achieve college and career readiness by collaboration, partnership and resource development with all staff of the School District of Menomonee Falls. We will work to provide training, information, evaluations, and resources to the students and staff to promote independence and individualized accommodations.

Universal Design for Learning

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a way of thinking about teaching and learning that helps give all students an equal opportunity to succeed.
This approach offers flexibility in the ways students access material, engage with it and show what they know.
Developing lesson plans this way helps all students, but it may be especially helpful for kids with learning and thinking differences.

What is Assistive Technology?

Assistive technology is any tool or device that a student with a disability uses to do a task that he or she could not otherwise do without it; or any tool the student uses to do a task more easily, efficiently, and independently. It can be a commercial product or something someone makes.
It can be a simple “low tech” device such as a pencil grip or an expensive “high tech” device such as a computer. Reed, P. (2007) Wisconsin Assistive Technology Initiative
