Students are provided with a district Google email (or gmail) account for communication purposes. Only students at the high school can send and receive email to others outside the district. Elementary and middle school students can only send and receive emails from SDMF school district accounts.
Students use Google Meet for video-conferencing with their class. A videoconference link and/or code is made available to the student through their Schoology page at the secondary level and through the student's Google Classroom page at the elementary level.
Google Classroom is a learning management system and used extensively at the elementary level. Students will typically find class assignments, announcements, links to resources, and a link into the students' Google Meet video-conferencing session. Learn about Google Classroom
Apps are available for download at no cost for your tablet or phone. Go to the online app location you normally use for your tablet or phone and then search for the app to download/install. Examples of apps include Google Meet, Google Classroom, Google Drive, Google Docs, etc.
