MFHS Experience

At Menomonee Falls High School we provide course offerings clustered in an academy model for high-demand job markets. That means these specialized opportunities are all housed within MFHS.

Students that participate in these academies get hands-on experience in the career fields that interest them and provide valuable job and mentorship opportunities that give them a leg up when they head off to college, tech college, apprenticeships and the workforce.


Business Academy

Business Academy Application : Deadline is February 8, 2019!

The Business Academy integrates academic, technical and 21st century skills to provide students a comprehensive understanding of careers in the business profession, employment in entry-level business careers as well as providing the additional knowledge and skills needed for higher level schooling for business careers.

Emphasis is on the importance of project, service, and work-based learning experiences. The rigorous and challenging content of the Business Academy lends itself to a variety of instructional strategies including contextual applications, multimedia, and cooperative learning. The Business Academy curriculum is competency-based, utilizing learner-centered instruction that provides opportunities for students to learn skills necessary for a career path in Business.

Design, Communication, & Media Academy

DC&M Academy Application: Deadline is February 8, 2019!

The way we communicate has changed exponentially in the last decade and with that comes a growing demand for young adults with a skill set to match. The growth of social media and the change in media consumption has put greater and greater demands on the skills of those able to visually capture someone's attention. Emphasis is on the importance of problem solving, creativity, collaboration, time management and critical thinking.

The DC&M Academy provides students the knowledge and skills needed for post-secondary careers in Design, Communications and Media related fields.

Careers include:

  • Design: Graphic Designer for print and web, Animator, Photographer, Package Design, and Motion Graphics Designer
  • Communications: Advertising Designer, Creative Insights & Services
  • Media: Digital Music Production, Cinematographer, Video & Sound Editing, Digital Image Technician, Sound Effects Designer)

Healthcare Academy Mission Statement

The Healthcare Academy integrates academic, technical and 21st century skills to provide students a comprehensive understanding of careers in the Healthcare profession, employment in entry-level medical careers as well as provide the additional knowledge and skills needed for higher level schooling for medical careers.

Emphasis is on the importance of project, service, and work-based learning experiences. The rigorous and challenging content of the Healthcare Academy lends itself to a variety of instructional strategies including contextual applications, multimedia, and cooperative learning. Healthcare Academy curriculum is competency-based, utilizing learner-centered instruction that provides rich opportunities for students to learn skills necessary for a career path in Health Science.

STEM Academy

STEM Academy Application: Deadline is February 8, 2019!

The STEM Academy integrates academic, technical, and 21st century skills to provide students the knowledge and skills needed for entry level and / or post-secondary STEM careers (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics). The academy model focuses on the importance of project based learning, as well as service and work-based learning experiences.

The rigorous and challenging content of the STEM Academy lends itself to a variety of instructional strategies including projects that are hands-on and project based in a cooperative learning environment. The STEM Academy curriculum is competency-based, utilizing learner-centered instruction that provides rich opportunities for students to learn skills necessary for a STEM career pathway.

Menomonee Falls High School is a certified Project Lead the Way school that offers a complete catalog of pre-engineering courses.These engineering courses will be taught in conjunction with the core curriculum courses so that student projects are applied in core subject areas reinforcing the rigor, relevance, and real world applications.

The STEM Academy is not just engineering. It may look different for every student. There are Manufacturing, Building Trades, and Computer Science classes that are a part of this program that a student can focus on along with their math and science courses throughout their high school experience.

Global Education Achievement Certificate

Students who demonstrate a strong interest in global citizenship and wish to engage in co-curricular activities and experiences that foster the development of global competences should consider enrolling in the Global Education Achievement Certificate (GEAC) program. Students must complete the required criteria in all FOUR of the categories listed below. The designation of “Global Scholar” will be entered on the student transcript. Students who complete the GEAC will also receive a certificate of completion from the state superintendent.
