Quest was created in 2005 to provide an educational alternative for students in the School District of Menomonee Falls who did not fit the traditional school programs. The program is run by Diane Gariepy In the early years, students from grades 7-12 who were recommended by the school board or high school counselors attended Quest. Approximately 5 years ago, Quest began focusing on mostly juniors and seniors from MFHS. Occasionally sophomores have been placed at Quest also.
A student may attend Quest because he/she is at-risk of not graduating due to a lack of credits, does not feel comfortable in a traditional school setting, has experienced medical situations causing them to fall behind in school, is going through a pregnancy or has experienced some type of behavioral incident at the high school.
Approximately 50 percent of the students spend a 1/2 day at Quest and a 1/2 day at the HS. Some students spend 1/2 day at Quest and work the other 1/2 of the day.
In the last 10 years, 155 students have graduated from the Quest Program. In 2015 Erin Brodzeller joined the teaching staff. This allows us to accommodate additional students.
We have 32 students this year that are split between two classrooms. This year Erin and I have introduced project-based learning into the classroom and added some elements of community service.
