HELP RAISE FUNDS to support Falls families who continue to fight pediatric cancer! Join us again this year on Sunday, April 26 from noon-4 pm for the 3rd annual basketball tournament. Teams need 5-8 players (limit two varsity players per team), team fee is $80 per team. Pick up your team packet in the Athletics Office. GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

LUNCH AND LEARN: MFHS will be hosting our first ever Lunch and Learn Program. On Wednesday March 18 please bring your lunch (during your lunch period) to the Innovation Center to hear from guest speaker, Chadd Scott. Mr. Scott is the General Manager of Delta Hotels by Marriot Milwaukee Northwest. Come learn about his journey towards becoming a General Manager and about the Hospitality Industry! If you would like to sign up or have any questions, please see Ms. Fredrich in room 114.

THASSOPHOBIA IS HERE! The annual talent show will be on Friday, March 20. See Mr. Brewer with any questions.

PROM 2020 INFO! Attn Juniors Students / Parents: If you would like to earn money for your prom ticket, materials for the prom fundraiser are available in room 213. WRITING CENTER HOURS: The Writing Center is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:30-2:30 and Wednesday from 10:30-2:00. Stop by Room 144 for help with rough drafts, revisions or other writing needs. You can sign up outside of Room 144. Drop-ins are welcome; bring a hard copy of your essay draft. See Mrs. Kollm or Mrs. Aschenbrenner in Room 144 for more information.

Hopefully, everyone from the Class of 2020 will be able to attend and enjoy a group celebration at the ball park. CHRISTIAN ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP: Stop by the athletic/activities office if you would like information regarding Christian athletic scholarships from $2500-$8000 offered by Divine Redeemer’s Christian Scholarship Fund. Deadline to apply is no later than Wednesday, April 3. Applications and info also available at www.drlc.org

SOPHOMORES - STATE MANDATED TESTING: The WI Forward test will be administered on Monday and Tuesday April 6-7. The Tests will be taken during Social Studies classes. Click https://dpi.wi.gov/assessment/forward for more information.

FRESHMEN AND SOPHOMORES STATE MANDATED TESTING: The ASPIRE test will be given on Monday-Friday April 20-24 Testing will take place in classrooms. There will be block scheduling all week except Wednesday. The ACT Aspire Early High School is a summative assessment that measures what students have learned in the areas of: English, Reading, Math, Science, and Writing. The test scores predict how a student will perform on both the ACT when they reach the 11th grade. Students who need academic interventions or challenges can be identified earlier in their high school careers.

OPEN GOLF PRACTICE: All students are invited to participate in open golf practice at Swingtime in Germantown, W197 N10349 Appleton Ave on Tuesdays at 3:45 pm and Wednesdays at 2:45 pm through March 25. Each session will run an hour. Swingtime offers $1 off to students with current Student ID. Any questions, please contact Marty Swab or Charlie Pietz.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT: Do you like working with young kids? Do you think you would be a great teacher? Do you like volunteering? If so, this opportunity is for you…Junior Achievement is looking for juniors and seniors to teach our kindergartners money concepts through experiential learning. JA provides you with a two hour training and all the materials you need to be successful in the classroom. Please contact Shelly Wolfe at wolfshe@sdmfschools.org to sign up.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Riverside Elementary School is looking for high school students to serve as tutors for elementary students at Riverside from November-May. MENOMONEE FALLS LIBRARY: The Falls library needs your help! Join the Teen Advisory Board and tell what programs you want at the Menomonee Falls Public Library while earning volunteer hours.
