SPRING MUSICAL AUDITIONS! Thespians, Singers, Dancers! Auditions for the 2023 Spring Musical will be held on Monday-Tuesday, February 6-7 with possible callbacks on Wednesday, February 8. For the audition, you will sing 32 bars of a song you are comfortable with. If you need a pianist to accompany you, please bring sheet music. Sign up by clicking here!

DRIVE EXTENDED! The Key Club Drive for the Women's Center of Waukesha has been extended. In every English Classroom, there is a box. Please help fill these boxes with much-needed basic supplies, like body wash, Bars of Dove soap, post-it notes, and pens, to name a few, for women who have been affected by abuse or trauma. These items can help get women and their children on their feet again. For more information, please talk to a Key Club member! Be kind and help others who really need our support.

WHO IS SWEET AT MFHS? Tell us which staff member you'd like to nominate at the link here. If your entry is chosen, we will send that staff member a special candy gram and give you a FREE candy gram to send. Now, that's a SWEET deal!

LAST CHANCE! CANDY GRAMS- Friday, February 3 is the last day that students will be selling candy grams before school, during lunches, and after school. For $2, you can select a candy and a message and have it delivered to someone on Valentine's Day. New this year is a "pump up!" For an extra $1, you can add a squishy heart stress ball to your candy gram with proceeds benefiting National Honor Society who will then send the donation on to the American Heart Association! C'mon MFHS, show us how SWEET you are by purchasing candy grams!

FEB READING CHALLENGE: Can you read 600 minutes in the month of February? A new reading challenge has started! Log your reading minutes and complete activities throughout the month for a chance to win prizes! See Mrs. Leonard if you have any questions.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

GSA MEETING: There will be a Gender Sexuality Alliance club meeting on Monday, February 6 after school in Room 207. All are welcome.

BOYS TENNIS INFO MEETING: The 2023 boys’ tennis team will be holding a sign-up and informational meeting after school on Tuesday, February 7 at 3:15pm in Room 233, Coach Andreshak's room. All returning and new players planning on playing this season should attend. The meeting should last about 20 minutes. Go Falls!

WHY CLIMB A ROCK? BECAUSE IT'S THERE! Would you like to spend your Monday afternoons climbing rocks in an indoor gym with your friends, and participate in fun competitions with over 200 students? Everyone, no matter your experience, is welcome at Rock Climbing Club! Join us for an informational meeting on Tuesday, February 7 during Phoenix time with Mr. Connelly in Room 150!

UPCOMING COLLEGE REP VISIT: UW Eau Claire will be here on Tuesday February 7 during 1st Period. If interested in attending, please sign up in Naviance and come to Student Services for a pass.

ADD/DROP DEADLINES: Attn Students- This is a reminder that classes can be dropped for a Study Hall no later than Wednesday, February 8. Per the course guide, if a course is dropped after two weeks from the start of the semester, the student will receive an “F” for the semester class. Contact your School Counselor or Mrs. Strupp with questions.

IT’S FEBRUARY MFHS! The Excellence Breakfast returns this month. Haven't been to a breakfast yet? Catch your teacher's eye and nomination by being the best student you can be--participation, respect, and timeliness to class are just a few of the great behaviors that can get you nominated. The February Breakfast is on the 14th! Hope to see you there. Falls Pride!

SCHOLARSHIP INFO: Interested in earning cash scholarships? The Optimist Club annually sponsors an oratorical and essay contest, and both will offer you the chance to share your opinion on the world you live in, as well as earn scholarships. See your English teacher for more information and for details on how to apply. The deadline for both contests is Wednesday, February 8.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Are you interested in earning scholarship money? The Optimist Club's annual Oratorical Contest and Essay Contest might be for you! JUNIORS & SENIORS who are interested in a career in law enforcement, there is a great opportunity for you this summer! The WI Legion is sponsoring a week-long training academy in July. SERVICE HOURS: And now a word from the Booster Club. Students, are you looking for service hours for the NHS or another group? The Booster Club can help with that! Please consider signing up to help out at our concessions during a Girls or Boys Basketball event. Click here to sign up today!

HEY FALLS STUDENTS! If you are looking for a great way to earn community service hours, consider being a volunteer tutor for Eras. You will be matched with a 3-5 grade student to help them with math and reading skills. The program runs now through May at Riverside Elementary School. Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 3:45-4:30. ACTIVITIES AND CLUBS: Did you know that MFHS offers over 30 different clubs and groups of all kinds? It’s true. Two things you should know about clubs/activities: 1. You need to register. FALLS PRIDE: It’s a common phrase that you will see and hear often. But it’s more than just words – it’s how we roll at MFHS! We respect the environment, our fellow classmates, and our staff.
