FOOD DRIVE - BEAT BROOK EAST! We need your help to beat Brookfield East HS in the WISN 12 Football Food Challenge. This is a week-long food drive at both schools benefiting Feeding America East. Wisconsin. They work with 600+ member organizations and together, they serve nearly 400,000 people annually. Bring in donations of peanut butter, canned vegetables, soup, cereal, canned fruit, canned meat, rice, pasta or beans. Donations will be used to feed the 1 in 7 people facing hunger right here in our community. Before Friday, September 13 @ 11am, bring in food, donate online at WISN.com/FeedingAmerica or text “football” to 91999 to help us beat Brookfield East! #fallspride. The winning school will be announced before the big game on Friday at 6:30 PM. Highlights from the game will be featured on WISN 12 News at 10 PM on Friday night.

BOOSTER CLUB CORN ROAST! The annual corn rost takes place this year on Friday, September 13 from 5-6:30 pm in the MFHC stadium parking lot prior to the varsity football game. You are invited for hot dogs, corn, soda and water. Students & Adults are $5 each, Children under 5 are free. There will also be raffle items to try to win including Packer tickets! Falls Fan Gear and Falls Golf teams will also be selling spirit items. Join us!
ATTN: CURRENT JUNIORS! Are you interested in being a leader at MFHS? Do you want to make a difference and have a voice in our school? Are you looking for something that makes you stand out in a recommendation letter when applying for college? Consider being a Junior Class Officer. Junior class officers will assist with the following: Homecoming decorations, class community service project, prom, discussion panel for important decisions that affect the climate at our school. Applications for Junior Class Officer are available in the main office, in the athletic office and in Mr. Mahlum’s room. The application deadline is Friday, September 13
FALLS CREATIVE CLUB MEETING: Students interested in joining the Falls Creative Club: Our first meeting of the year will be Monday, September 16, after school in the library. The group is looking for all students who are interested in video production, photography, social media. There are a lot of projects to discuss, including this year's Film Festival. See Mrs. Finley in the library if you can't make it to the meeting.
ATTENTION SOPHOMORES: Please vote for this year’s Sophomore Class Officers by the end of today, Friday, September 13. The sophomore council is made up of five officers who share the responsibility of leading their class. Officers are responsible for communicating school and class news to their class, and helping to plan and coordinate events throughout the year. Working as a team, the council will: Design and decorate the Sophomore hall for Homecoming and lead a charitable activity for their class in November/December - in partnership with Riverside Elementary. ATTENTION HOSA MEMBERS: The next meeting is Wednesday, September 25 at 2:05 in Ms. Kopatich’s room, 206. HOSA will be placing the t-shirt orders and exploring the competitive events. If you want to attend FLC, bring your permission slips and money. It is first come, first serve for those 13 spots!
JUNIOR OPTIMIST: The next JOI meeting is Tuesday, September 17 in Room 147 immediately after school.
NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY: The MFHS chapter of the National ART Honor Society is now accepting applications for this school year. Students must have completed 2 art classes with an A- average and a B average overall GPA can apply. Applications may be found in any art classroom and the main office. NEW STUDENT WRITING CENTER: This new center is available for any students who would like to practice their writing skills without being evaluated in a classroom. SCHEDULE CHANGES? Dropping a class will require a schedule change form AND parent’s signature. Classes can be added up to one week into the semester (September 10). Classes can be dropped up to two weeks into the semester (September 17).
BE A STUDENT SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER: Juniors and Seniors! Did you know that the School District of Menomonee Falls welcomes students to sit on the on the District School Board? Consider lending your student viewpoint to the agenda items discussed at regular School Board meetings. Appointments are for one full school year. Applications and more information are available outside the Main Office online in Publications. Deadline to apply is Friday, September 20. MFHS 2019 HOMECOMING will be Saturday, October 5. HoCo tickets to “A Night in Paradise Falls” are ready to purchase online. Go to the parents tab- then fee payments- choose the HS – A Night in Paradise Falls. Permission slips for guests are available in the main office. See Mrs. Hangos with any questions.
FALL METALS RECYCLING DRIVE: SDMF in conjunction with the Band Bunch Boosters will be holding their Fall Metals Recycling Drive at the High School Stadium parking lot on Saturday, October 5, 8 AM-noon. Unload that scrap metal for free, as you clean out the garage while helping to raise funds. What can be donated? Aluminum cans, appliances, snow blowers, lawn mowers, grills, shelving, fire pits, fireplace sets, patio furniture, old siding, stainless steel, brass, electrical wire, plumbing pipe, old Christmas lights, window screens, bicycles, swing sets, and much more! UKULELE CLUB! An informational Ukulele Club meeting will be held Tuesday, September 17 at 3:15 pm in the choir room 165. The Ukulele Club will meet Tuesdays from 3:15 - 4:00 PM. You must bring your own instrument. Singers are also welcome. Speak to Mr. Scheele if you have questions
ROCK CLIMBING CLUB: There will be an informational meeting on Monday, September 16, after school in room 150. See Mr. Brewer with any questions.
STUDENT COUNCIL: First meeting will be held Tuesday, September 17 after school in room 208. The meeting will go until approximately 3:30 pm. Snacks will be provided. Come check it out if you are interested in joining : )

POWDER-PUFFERS! Junior and Senior girls- sign up for Powder Puff through Monday, September 16. Turn in slips and $$ to Mr. Langer in the cafeteria study hall. Choose your name wisely as anything deemed potentially inappropriate will be replaced with a blank.

SENIORS! NEED HELP WITH YOUR SENIOR PICS? The Creative Academy students are helping the yearbook staff this year by taking senior photos. Please stop down in the Innovation Center to see Ms. Chmielewski to set up an appointment for your 10 minute photo session.
SERVICE HOURS OPPORTUNITY: Shady Lane and Valley View PTO are looking for childcare volunteers to help out during PTO meetings. Meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 6:30-8:00 p.m., with the first being September 17 at Shady Lane. HELP WANTED- OFFICE HELPERS: Both Student Services and the Athletics Office are in need of office helpers. Student services needs a helpers during 7th and 8th hours.
