BOYS’ HOCKEY: Come cheer on the STARS Hockey Team as they faceoff against Appleton United this Friday, January 24. The puck drops at 6:30 pm at The Ponds (located at 2810 N Calhoun Rd). The STARS, in partnership with Elmbrook Youth Hockey, will recognize the Joe Offutt Family, as they kick-off this Concussion Awareness Event.
GSA MEETING: There will be a Gender Sexuality Alliance club meeting on Monday, February 3 after school in Room 207. See Ms. Gesell with questions.
FILM & NOVEL SOCIETY: Great news! The Film and Novel Society is going to host a community book discussion on Monday, February 10. The Menomonee Falls Public Library is participating in the NEA Big READ in the Falls and so are we! The group will be reading and discussing Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. Mrs. Finley has copies available in the library if you need one. Hope to see you in February!
RED OUT FOR HEARTS! National Honor Society and the Girls’ Basketball Team are holding a RED OUT at the varsity game on Friday, January 24. Support the American Heart Association and fight heart disease – America’s #1 killer – by purchasing your RED OUT shirt available at the entrance of the game.
FALLS CREATIVE: The next Falls Creative meeting will be Monday, January 27, after school in the library. It's time to really focus in on the Film Festival so we need everyone to attend this meeting. Please let Mrs. Finley know if you can't make it.
OPEN GOLF PRACTICE: If any Falls students would like to participate in open golf practice at Swingtime in Germantown, open practice starts on Tuesday, January 28 and will be on Tuesdays at 3:45 pm and Wednesdays at 2:45 pm. Each practice will be 60-90 minutes. Swing Time offers $1 off to students who show a current Student ID. The official start of boys’ golf season is on Monday, March 30. Swingtime Germantown is located at W197 N10349 Appleton Ave. Open to all students male and female.
HELP WANTED: Student Services is looking for students to help in our office with running passes, etc. for second semester. Hours needed are 5C, 5AB, 6 and 8. You must be in good standing with grades and attendance. If interested, please see your school counselor.

ACADEMY APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE: Interested in joining an Academy next year? Applications are now available online for students to apply for any of our FIVE Academies; Business Academy, Design, Communication, & Media Academy, NEW Educator Academy, Healthcare Academy and the STEM Academy. Applications and more information can be found here and by clicking into each Academy of interest. Applications are due by Tuesday, February 4, 2020.
The MFHS Art Honor Society will be hosting the Empty Bowls Soup Dinner fundraiser for the Menomonee Falls Food Pantry Friday, February 14, 5- 7:30 PM, HS Cafeteria; $10 donation for Dinner of soup, bread, water, and a ceramic bowl. Tickets can be purchased at classmunity.com, from a MFHS art teacher or at the event. The basic dinner is a reminder that there are often empty bowls in our community. 100% of the money raised is donated to the food pantry. FOR PARENTS- SUPPORT THE BOOSTER CLUB The Booster Club is inviting all parents and friends to join them for the 4th Annual Spring Fling on Saturday, February 29 at 6 pm in the beautiful Crystal Ball Room at the Hilton Downtown Milwaukee. All proceeds go to the Capital Improvement Campaign used to better sports facilities. This is a formal event filled with dancing, great food and popular Milwaukee cover band The Love Monkeys. NEW WRITING CENTER HOURS: The Writing Center is now open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:30-2:30 and Wednesday from 10:30-2:00. ATTENTION INTERNATIONAL CLUB: The Costa Rican students will be guests here until January 31. There will be an International Club member meeting with anyone else that wants to come (especially the Costa Rican host students) invited to an ice-cream/custard social on Tuesday, January 28 after school in room 236 to get to meet / say goodbye/ hang out with the Costa Ricans. JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT: Do you like working with young kids? Do you think you would be a great teacher? Do you like volunteering? If so, this opportunity is for you…Junior Achievement is looking for juniors and seniors to teach our kindergartners money concepts through experiential learning.
