Description: Hiring lifeguards and swim instructors! Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include - Maintain proper supervision of participants during all scheduled programs in the pool. - Complete required reports and records as assigned. - Assist with pool admissions. - Attend all in-service training programs and be aware of all facility procedures - Effectively convey rules and expectations to program participants, and positively reinforce behaviors. - Convey program and equipment needs to Aquatic Coordinator. - Be prepared to react to an emergency situation; be certain your site first aid kit is sufficiently stocked with necessary supplies, and that your staff is aware of the location of the first aid kit, bio-hazard supplies and telephone. - Be prepared to react in a severe weather situation. - Teach/Assist with swim lessons. - All other duties as assigned.

Hours: 4-40 Hours per Week; Mondays - Thursdays - 8am - 6pm Fridays - 12pm - 6pm Saturdays - 8am - 12pm - Staff is required to work one Saturday per month. We are closed for all major holidays.

Qualifications: Must be at least 15 years of age. - Must hold current certifications through American Red Cross in Lifeguarding, CPR-AED for Lifeguards, and First Aid or be willingly to obtain certifications within 1 month of employment. - Must be able to work cooperatively with other program staff, parents and the general public. - Must complete staff in-services including Blood Borne Pathogen Training, Child Abuse & Neglect Training, and additional trainings required for the position. - Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, other District personnel, and the public. - Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations.

Description: Under the direction of the Aquatics Director and in accordance with Association policies, the Lifeguard should be able to motivate others in the areas of self-awareness and self-confidence through swimming and aquatics, be able to motivate and effectively communicate with members, parents and students, and exercise mature judgment and sound decision-making. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Create an environment that is welcoming, nurturing and genuine for all members and guests. Maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, on deck, and surrounding areas. Prevent accidents by scanning assigned zone from bottom to top and covering z one in compliance with the 10/10 rule. Perform swim tests as required by association policy. Enforce health and safety rules and maintain emergency readiness. Respond to emergency situations in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Complete incident and accident reports as necessary. Perform routine maintenance of pool, locker rooms, and surrounding areas to ensure cleanliness. Check pool and rescue equipment and promptly report any problems. Set up and put away equipment for recreational swims. Participation and satisfactory completion of in-service trainings is mandatory.
