Compensation: $18.38 per hour
Description: Candidates will gain criminal justice experience. There is a written exam, oral board interview, and a physical readiness test, along with a comprehensive background check. Once this part of the hiring process is completed, there's a two-week orientation at the Milwaukee Police Safety Academy and badge ceremony at the end. The police aides are then assigned to various work locations inside of the department. The duties vary depending on where they are assigned.

Qualifications: Must be at least 17 years of age and a graduating senior • Once in the program, there is partial tuition reimbursement to qualified candidates. A candidate can apply for a police officer position when they turn 20 years old.
