After successful completion, the candidate will have the opportunity for a full-time position at GWS Job Summary: The CNC Machinist Apprentice will work in various roles throughout all production associated departments within the facility to build their skill base towards becoming a CNC Operator. The apprentice will advance through the program as competency is shown through each step of the GWS tool production process. Duties/Responsibilities: Examine tools for proper geometry within blueprint specifications. Compare part number/quantity of items received to procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness of and accuracy of order. Approve or reject items, and record inspection and disposition data. Inspect incoming raw material, thin film coating, vendor-supplied tooling, grinding wheel geometric configurations, and final inspections. Prepares inspection procedures for reference use in subsequent inspections. Runs inspection programs for in-process processes and final inspection on CNC measuring machines. Assist in etching product identifications. Check all job packets to ensure the coating is applied to tools. Clean tools using the established process with the V80 cleaning system. Make sure the carousel is loaded with proper-sized tools and the proper length of cut is showing out of the holder. Prepare coating (pi 80) for coating set the parameter

Hours: 20-30 hours per week; after school and weekends

Qualifications: Strong math skills required to perform day-to-day operations including the ability to convert metric to inch and decimal to fraction. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
