Activities

North Middle School offers a multitude of enriching extra-curricular opportunities that build leadership, conflict resolution and creative skills. Our arts and activities offerings are geared towards providing children the opportunity to explore their passions.

To register for an NMS sport, click the button below and choose Middle School Athletics. Then, create a family account to use from 6th through 12th grade or log into your family account. The only paper component of the registration process is the uploading a current physical card. You must pay an athletic user fee of $130 before the start of the season (this will be returned if the athlete does not make the team in a cut sport).

Builders Club (Formerly Student Leaders)

Advisors: Mrs. Boehler and Mrs. Theis

Our meetings: will be held after school from 2:35-3:30 p.m.in Room 238. The 2024-2025 Calendar will be added once it is available.

Description: Builders Club + Student Council = North’s Student Leaders is a very active service organization that serves North Middle School activities as well as community events connected with the Kiwanis Club. It is a student group which plans many of the events geared for students and staff during the school year. It raises money for organizations of the students’ choosing and it allows students to be involved outside of school with some Kiwanis Club events.

Some of the activities planned throughout the year include: Spirit Days, CRUSH Soda sales, Pop tab collections, CAPS of LOVE and community-based service projects as well as several intergenerational activities. Anyone can join at any time during the school year- all are welcome. Students should listen to daily announcements for more information about meetings and activities.

FBLA

Advisors: Mr. Nitz & Mr. Peot

Description: FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America. It is a national organization for students with an interest in developing their professional and leadership skills. It is an extremely popular club at our high school in Menomonee Falls, and well known state-wide and nationally. More and more schools have been starting chapters at the middle school level.

FBLA operates the school store and students will have the opportunity to compete in business-related subjects at the regional and state level against students from other middle schools. The regional competition will be at Madison College in February. Students who do well at regionals can qualify for the state competition, in LaCrosse, in April. We will also be involved with some community service projects throughout the year and will work collaboratively with the high school chapter on various projects.

Game Club

Get Fit Club

Advisors: Mrs. Fuiten and Mr. Tischer

Start Date: Mid November - stay tuned for more information.

Description: This club promotes healthy living and provides opportunities for students to exercise in a fun and relaxed setting outside of the school day and/or organized sports. Get Fit Club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:40 – 3:40 pm from November through March. Students participate in a variety of physical activities including but not limited to swimming, pickle ball, running, weight lifting, basketball and volleyball. Each student activity is led and supervised by a physical education teacher. Students are welcome to participate in the program as many times as they wish during the course of the year.

GSA

Advisor: Ms. Bonilha

GSA provides a safe and welcoming environment for ALL students. It is a place where all students are accepted, supported, and can just simply be themselves. Free Space is a time for students to socialize and connect with each other while feeling part of a community. We will be meeting once a month, typically on the 4th Tuesday, from 2:35-3:30. Be prepared to come relax and have some fun! ALL students are welcome to join!!

HOSA

Advisor: Mrs. Poetzel

Are you interested in the medical field, forensics, nursing and more? Then HOSA might be for you. Open to all 7th and 8th grade students HOSA or Health Occupations Students of America is a club where we learn about health care careers, compete in events and do a community service project. This club is open to 7th and 8th grade students. There is a Schoology page to see more about what we are about or come and check us out at our first meeting TBD after school until 3:15 in room 113 or see Mrs. Poetzel for more information about joining. There are two registration pieces required for this club. First you need to be registered online through North and then there is a separate $20 registration fee required by the State of WI HOSA Program. Hope to see you soon, Mrs Poetzel.

Art Club

Meets: Monthly Sept-May, 2:35 - 4:00pm, Art Rooms 216

Description: Art club is a creative after school activity where students will be making art and doing other creative activities. Examples of activities include, Inktober, Empty Bowls, Extreme Hand Turkeys, Open Studio days, and more! Students are permitted to brin their own art supplies, however supplies are provided for all students who need them. Art club is perfect for all students who want a little more creativity in their lives. Students may register for Art Club at any point throughout the year through the "Arts and Activities" page on the North Middle School Website

Drama Club

Advisor: Mrs. Hake

Description : The Drama Club is a group for those interested in the theatrical arts.

This club will inspire the love of musical theater under the guidance of directors who are educators and have years of experience directing students and working in local community theaters.

Auditions will be held the first week in January. Stay tuned for more information!

Falls Creative

Advisors: Mr. Tamas, Mrs. Timm

Meet: Thursdays from 2:40 -3:30 beginning TBD.

Mission: To help students who are interested in the multimedia field, learn more about the dynamics of media: writing, producing, editing and directing in studio broadcasting.

Description: In Falls Creative VPC, students will work in small groups to create productions during the school year. The club will guide students through all aspects of production. It will provide an opportunity to create, collaborate and communicate using our studio, computers, digital video cameras, and Final Cut Pro. Students will learn how to plan, shoot, edit and publish their videos.

7th & 8th Grade Jazz Ensemble

Advisor:Mrs. Schickert

Meet: Monday after school 2:45 - 3:45pm

Description: Jazz Ensemble is a performing group open to 7th/8th grade students (occasionally 6th grade students second semester). The Jazz Ensemble performs at school concerts and at a special Jazz event in March. The standard instruments in this group include saxes, trumpets, trombones (baritones), tubas, electric bass, keyboard/piano, guitar and drumset. If you are not in the band program, see Mrs. Schickert in mid-September to discuss the opportunity for participation.
