North Middle School Announcements 5-9-25
Good morning, North Stars! Today is an A day. We will plan for outside Recess. Enjoy the beautiful spring weather.
The Yearbook order deadline is today. Check with your parents, if they received a Yearbook email, it means you have not ordered a yearbook. Any questions about a yearbook, please see Mrs. Scargill.
Attention 7th graders going on the Washington DC trip next year. You will be signing up for your roommate groups on Wednesday, May 14th at the start of your 6th hour class. We will meet in the cafeteria. Please come to this meeting with your roommate groups in mind. For planning purposes, there are 4 students in a room. If you have questions see Ms. Kenkel or Ms. Schrank.
Congratulations to all our North Stars who qualified for the Year End Field trips. You may choose your grade level trip or the alternative trip. The deadline for registering is May 23rd and there are no exceptions for late registrations. Please double check your grades and make sure you do not have more than 1 F. If you do, you have until May 23rd to improve your grades.
Attention 8th Grade Students interested in playing Football next year at the high school: There is a Football Parent Meeting on Monday, May 12th at 7pm in the high school cafeteria for all incoming freshmen..

NMS Athletes: Team and individual portraits from your picture day are now available to view and order online. To order photos from your picture day:

2. Select "View now" on the green Sports Team & Individual tile
3. Enter your information in the search fields
4. Select the school year (July 1st to June 30th) during which your photos were taken and click "search"
5. Follow the instructions to select your package or products and choose your background for your individual photos if applicable
6. You will receive a confirmation email

Dance - Tryouts for the 25-26 school year will be May 19th - May 21st. Please see the flyer for more information. Note the final tryout on May 21st will be from 4-6pm. There will be an Information Meeting on May 14th from 5:30-6:30pm. Please note: Please sign up on the “register here” link to log your interest in dance. Your student does need to be registered online through the NMS Athletic link and cleared to participate prior to the first tryout day. The Dance team also has one remaining clinic offered through the CE & Rec department on May 17th. Sign up for those through the Rec Department. If you have any questions, please contact the Dance coaches at dance.nms@gmail.com
The 25-26 Athletic Registration is now partially open to register. Please click here to register. The payment link is still being programmed so for this registration we will be billing your PowerSchool account. You may pay online or send cash/check payable to North Middle School to the office. Please make sure you have a WIAA Physical form signed by a doctor and with an exam dated on or after April 1, 2024 to be cleared to participate.

Art Club - Second Semester Meeting Dates: Last meeting date: May 19th until 4pm.
Builders Club - The last meeting date this year is 5/15 .
GSA - The last GSA meeting for the year is tomorrow, May 6th from 2:40 - 3:30pm in Room 133. Students are welcome to bring a treat to share.
LINK - A supervised, after school study hall is held on most Tuesdays ( Room 206) and Thursdays (Room 108) until 4pm. Please see the link for the schedule and more information.
Mountain Bike Club - Planning is underway for next year. All are welcome to attend an informational meeting on May 29th or June 9th from 6:30 - 7:30pm in the Falls High School library.
Racquet Club - Will meet in the gym until 3:40pm every Tuesday and Thursday through May 22nd.

School Supply Kits - We are offering School Supply kits again this year since it was so popular last year! The “store” is now open and will remain open until July 1, 2025. You can shop anytime between now and then. The kits will be delivered to your home approximately two weeks prior to the start of school. Just a reminder that you can email absences or appointments during the school day to our attendance office at attendancenms@sdmfschools.org. This email is always monitored by a staff member. New this year, you can also enter the absence yourself on the PowerSchool Parent Portal (not available on the app) You can also call the attendance office at 262-255-8496 to report absences or appointments. | If you are taking the bus home with a friend, you must have a note signed by your parent that you bring to the Attendance office to have approved, signed and stamped. Johnson Bus will not allow you on another bus without this signed and stamped note. This applies to getting off your bus at a different stop. |

WEB Leader Applications - Attention all current 7th graders! Are you interested in helping our incoming 6th graders have a smooth transition to middle school and create a positive school environment? If so, then we want you to apply to be a web leader! The WEB leader program is led by 8th graders who work to provide a positive transition into middle school for our 6th graders. We are looking for students who are respectful, reliable, and a team player. The link to the application is in the announcements and we want all applications submitted by Friday, May 16th. If you have any questions please see Ms. Kenkel in 202 or Ms. Schrank.
8th Grade Class News: 8th Grade Completion Ceremony, Thursday, June 12, 8:45am - 10am, Village Park. In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will move indoors to the NMS Gym and each student will receive 4 tickets. Both the indoor or the outdoor ceremony will be live streamed so relatives without a ticket will be able to watch online. If needed, a decision will be made by 2:30pm on June 11th to move the ceremony.

Information regarding the year end field trips was emailed to eligible students and parents on Friday, May 2nd. New this year, we are doing all registrations and payment online. We understand that there were a couple of glitches over the weekend with registering but those issues have now been resolved and we appreciate your patience as we work out this new system. Also, please take a moment to review your student’s grades with them. In order to be eligible, students may not have more than 1 F. Students have until the May 23rd deadline to improve their grades.

NMS Athletes: Team and individual portraits from your picture day are now available to view and order online. To order photos from your picture day:
1. Go to: https://www.vipis.com/group/964697cd/north-middle-school
2. Select "View now" on the green Sports Team & Individual tile
3. Enter your information in the search fields
4. Select the school year (July 1st to June 30th) during which your photos were taken and click "search"
5. Follow the instructions to select your package or products and choose your background for your individual photos if applicable
6. You will receive a confirmation email

Dance - Tryouts for the 25-26 school year will be May 19th - May 21st. Please see the flyer for more information. Note the final tryout on May 21st will be from 4-6pm. There will be an Information Meeting on May 14th from 5:30-6:30pm. Please note: Please sign up on the “register here” link to log your interest in dance. Your student does need to be registered online through the NMS Athletic link and cleared to participate prior to the first tryout day. The 25-26 Athletic Registration will open soon as we are transitioning to a new system. Please make sure you have a WIAA Physical form signed by a doctor and with an exam dated on or after April 1, 2024 to be cleared to participate. The Dance team also has one remaining clinic offered through the CE & Rec department on May 17th. Sign up for those through the Rec Department. GSA - The last GSA meeting for the year is tomorrow, May 6th from 2:40 - 3:30pm in Room 133. Students are welcome to bring a treat to share.
LINK - A supervised, after school study hall is held on most Tuesdays ( Room 206) and Thursdays (Room 108) until 4pm. Please see the link for the schedule and more information.
Mountain Bike Club - Planning is underway for next year. All are welcome to attend an informational meeting on May 29th or June 9th from 6:30 - 7:30pm in the Falls High School library.
Racquet Club - Will meet in the gym until 3:40pm every Tuesday and Thursday through May 22nd.

New this year, you can also enter the absence yourself on the PowerSchool Parent Portal (not available on the app) You can also call the attendance office at 262-255-8496 to report absences or appointments. | If you are taking the bus home with a friend, you must have a note signed by your parent that you bring to the Attendance office to have approved, signed and stamped. Johnson Bus will not allow you on another bus without this signed and stamped note. This applies to getting off your bus at a different stop. |

WEB Leader Applications - Attention all current 7th graders! Are you interested in helping our incoming 6th graders have a smooth transition to middle school and create a positive school environment? If so, then we want you to apply to be a web leader! The WEB leader program is led by 8th graders who work to provide a positive transition into middle school for our 6th graders. We are looking for students who are respectful, reliable, and a team player. The link to the application is in the announcements and we want all applications submitted by Friday, May 16th. 8th Grade Class News: 8th Grade Completion Ceremony, Thursday, June 12, 8:45am - 10am, Village Park. In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will move indoors to the NMS Gym and each student will receive 4 tickets. Both the indoor or the outdoor ceremony will be live streamed so relatives without a ticket will be able to watch online. If needed, a decision will be made by 2:30pm on June 11th to move the ceremony.

The yearbooks order deadline is this Friday,May 9th. Check with your parents, if they received a Yearbook email Friday, May 2nd, it means you have not ordered a yearbook yet. All orders are placed directly through VIP. Please see the announcements for more information.
Information regarding the year end field trips was emailed to eligible students and parents on Friday, May 2nd. New this year, we are doing all registrations and payment online. We understand that there were a couple of glitches over the weekend with student names and being able to add more than one student to the cart for checkout. Those issues have now been resolved and we appreciate your patience as we work out this new system. Also, please take a moment to review your student’s grades with them. In order to be eligible, students may not have more than 1 F. Students have until the May 23rd deadline to improve their grades.
