The profession is characterized by a steadfast commitment to social justice in the service of empowering individuals, families, and communities to meet their needs.
School Psychology Mission Statement School psychologists have specialized training in assessment and counseling psychology as well as special and regular education. They use their training and skills to team with educators, parents, and other mental health professionals to ensure that every child learns in a safe, healthy, and supportive environment. School psychologists understand human development, school systems, effective teaching, and successful learning.
In partnership with educators, family and community, school psychologists provide, support, and sustain practices that promote academic and social-emotional success for all learners.
