Week Of September 9

Hello Valley View Families,

Valiant Knights' update:

  • We had a fantastic first week of school! Classrooms focused on getting organized, learning classroom procedures and building a team focused environment. Students had a blast breaking into a locked mystery box while learning school-wide expectation. Each grade level finished the week with a grade level tug-a-war competition. It was wonderful to see all of the smiles and cheers. There are so many great relationships being built.

Reminder:

  • Mark your calendar - September 19th is our Parent Information Night at 5:30-7:00 pm. Your classroom teacher will share curriculum and other pertinent information about your child's year. We are changing the format a little to accommodate feedback we received. Each grade level will have a separate 30 minute session. Parents are also invited to informal discussions in a Q&A format with the principal and coaches offered multiple times throughout the evening. More information to come soon.
  • September 17th is our first Shady Valley PTO Meeting at 6:30 pm in the Shady Lane cafeteria. Please attend to hear how the PTO supports our school and each child and to have a voice in upcoming events. Childcare will be available.

My door is always open. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call (262-250-2620), email (posntin@sdmfschools.org) or stop by.

It is going to be a fantastic week! Thank you for choosing to be part of the Valley View Family.

Week of October 14

Hello Valley View Families,

Valiant Knights' update:

  • I wanted to give everyone a reminder that supervisors are on the playground beginning at 8:30 am. Please do not drop your children off prior to that time. If students are walking and arrive early, they should wait either by the bikes or by the front door near the office until 8:30 when the supervisors enter the playground. Due to security, parents are not allowed on the playground during the morning recess time unless they have checked in the office and have a name sticker. Thanks for helping with the safety of all of our students.
  • The Wisconsin RTI Center recognized Valley View in reading and math at the silver level for our work toward fully implementing a system that leads to improved student outcomes. This equitable system helps increase consistency of instruction, enhances staff skills, proactively provides supports for all learners, and builds stronger relationships. We are excited to receive this recognition!

Reminder:

  • Tuesday, October 15th is our next Shady Valley PTO Meeting at Valley View at 6:30 pm in the Valley View Library. Childcare will be available.
